Yes, noticeably. A painter can then keep working without masking and moving every time, and above a certain surface area machine spraying becomes worthwhile. In practice that saves 15 to 25% per square metre compared with room by room with months in between.
That depends on its condition. The painter taps the facade: if it sounds hollow or flakes come off, that area must be removed and rebuilt first. If the render is firmly attached and only dirty or greyed, cleaning, removing dust and a breathable facade paint are enough. Painting straight over loose render is money down the drain.
Between April and September, at temperatures above 10 °C and in dry weather. Facade paint and gloss need drying time and must not be applied in full sun or with night frost. Ask for your quote in spring; diaries from May to August fill up quickly.
Then the affected wood must first be removed down to sound wood and built up with an epoxy or two-component filler before painting. If more than a third of the bottom rail is gone, replacing the window is usually cheaper than continuing to repair. Usually you are expected to remove small items, curtains and wall decorations yourself; the painter moves the large furniture to the centre, covers it with plastic and cardboard and protects the floor.
